Tamko Roof Inspection in Fort Worth: What to Know First
A Tamko roof inspection in Fort Worth is a systematic check of your shingles, flashing, decking, and underlayment to catch the early signs of failure before they turn into a leak. We do this as an independent Tamko service provider, which means we can give you a straight answer about what your roof needs without any pressure to sell you a new one. Most inspections take about an hour, and you’ll get a written report with photos and a line-item price for any repair work, before any work starts.
If you’re a homeowner in Fort Worth with a Tamko roof, this page explains what we look for, what we find most often, and what it costs to fix. Call (682) 900-7902 to schedule your inspection.
How Tamko Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
Tamko makes a solid shingle, but every roof in North Texas faces the same two enemies: hail and July heat. Here are the failure modes we see most often on Tamko roofs in Fort Worth:
- Granule loss on Heritage shingles. Tamko Heritage shingles have a thick granule layer, but after seven to ten years of Fort Worth sun, that layer starts shedding into your gutters. We check the granule density on every slope and measure the remaining shingle thickness. If it’s localized, we replace the affected slope. If it’s widespread, we’ll tell you honestly that patching is a waste of money.
- Nail strip rot on the ridge line. Tamko ridge caps sit directly on the hip and ridge fasteners. When the sealant on those caps breaks down, rainwater gets to the nail heads and rots the shingle from underneath. This is one of the first things we check, because it’s almost invisible from the ground.
- Leaky flashing at the pipe collars and chimney base. This isn’t specific to Tamko, but we see it more often on homes where the original installer used thin, bargain flashing. The Tamko shingle itself holds up fine, but the flashing fails, and the shingle above it gets blamed. We pull back the shingle, inspect the old metal, and reflash with a heavier gauge before sealing the shingle back down.
- Wind-lifted tabs on Heritage Woodgate. Tamko’s Woodgate line has a raised, wood-shake profile. Those tabs catch wind from a different angle than a flat shingle, and after a big spring storm, the tabs can lift even if the shingle seal hasn’t completely failed. We check every row for broken seals and reseal them with a Tamko-approved adhesive that holds in Texas heat.
- Old Hip and Ridge caps that no longer match. When a roof has been patched over the years, the replacement ridge caps often don’t match the original Tamko color or profile. That’s a water-entry risk, not just a cosmetic issue: mismatched caps don’t interlock correctly. We can source Tamko color-matched Hip and Ridge caps, or a quality aftermarket cap with the same profile, so the entire ridge line is tight.

Our Tamko Roof Inspection Process
Here’s what happens when you call (682) 900-7902 for a Tamko roof inspection in Fort Worth:
- 1
You talk to a live person. No voicemail, no automated system. We’ll ask basic questions about the roof’s age, any leaks you’ve seen, and whether you know which Tamko product is installed.
- 2
We walk the roof ourselves. Travis Oakley and the crew don’t inspect from the gutter or a drone. We climb up, look at every slope, and check the decking, flashing, and sealant by hand. That’s how we catch the things a ladder inspection misses.
- 3
We identify what’s actually wrong. Each Tamko line has its own weak points. We name the shingle series you have, explain what’s failing and why, and separate storm damage from normal wear. If it’s a warranty situation, we’ll tell you what to document.
- 4
We put a written price in your hand. Before any work starts, you get a line-item price for every repair we recommend. No number changes at the door.
- 5
We only fix what needs fixing. If the repair is small, we’ll say so. If it’s bigger, we’ll show you why. Every repair is done with clean, correct materials and then rechecked before we leave.
- 6
You get the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. Every repair and installation is guaranteed for one full year. If it fails within that period, we come back at no charge.

AfterWhat Tamko Roof Inspection Costs in Fort Worth
A Tamko roof inspection in Fort Worth costs $0. The inspection is free. What you pay for is the repair work you decide to have done, and you’ll have a written price for that before we touch anything.
Here’s what common Tamko repairs run in Fort Worth:
- Single shingle tab reseal: $85 – $150, depending on roof pitch and access.
- Replacing 3 – 5 damaged shingles: $250 – $450, plus the cost of hauling the old material.
- New pipe collar flashing: $180 – $300, including pulling back and resealing the surrounding shingles.
- New chimney flashing and counter-flashing: $450 – $800, depending on the chimney size and metal gauge.
- Ridge cap replacement on one slope: $300 – $600, including color-matched Tamko or similar profile caps.
The big variable is roof pitch and deck condition. A 12/12-pitch roof costs more in labor than a 6/12 because of the safety setup. If the decking under the shingles shows rot, that adds material and time. You’ll see all of it on paper before work starts. Call (682) 900-7902 for a free estimate.
Why Fort Worth Homeowners Call Brennan Roofing Co Fort Worth for Tamko Work
Most roofing companies in the Metroplex can replace a shingle. Fewer can tell you why a Tamko Heritage shingle is losing more granule than it should, or which Tamko series is known to have a weaker nail strip from certain install years. That’s the difference.
Brennan Roofing Co Fort Worth is an independently owned member of the Garrison Partners family, founded in 2000. We operate under the Garrison Standard: written price before any work starts, background-checked uniformed technicians on every job, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise on every repair and installation, in writing, for one full year. We’re also a multi-brand shop, so if you need future work done with GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed materials, we can do that without changing the standard we hold ourselves to.

FAQs
No. An inspection doesn’t void a Tamko warranty. Repairs done correctly with compatible materials also won’t void it. What voids warranties is improper installation, not inspection. We document everything in the report so you have a record if you ever file a Tamko claim.
Most single-family inspections take about an hour. Steeper roofs or larger homes add time. You’ll get the report and any repair pricing the same day, in writing. Call (682) 900-7902 to schedule.
In most cases, yes. Tamko has kept many of its Heritage colors in production for years, and we carry or can source color-matched shingles and ridge caps. If your color has been discontinued, we’ll show you the closest current option and let you decide before any work starts.
If the shingles have lost granule across the entire roof or the decking is soft in multiple places, repair is a band-aid. If the roof is under ten years old and the issue is localized, repair usually makes more sense. We’ll give you the straight answer and the numbers for both options, then let you decide.
