Atlas Shingle Repair: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

Atlas shingle repair in Fort Worth typically runs $350 – $900 installed, depending on how many shingles failed and what’s going on underneath them. We stock Atlas-compatible replacement shingles on our trucks and can usually match your existing shingle color and profile the same day we inspect it. Most Fort Worth homeowners discover the problem after a storm: a shingle in the yard, a dark patch on the roof, or water staining on a ceiling that wasn’t there last week. Sometimes it’s quieter than that. Granules collect at the downspout. A corner lifts and you spot it from the street. Either way, one failed Atlas shingle rarely stays one for long in North Texas wind, and getting it fixed before the next hail season is cheaper than waiting. Tell us what the roof is doing. We’ll figure out what it needs.

Key Takeaways:

  • Atlas shingle repair installed in Fort Worth generally falls between $350 and $900, with most single-section repairs landing around $450 – $600.
  • We stock Atlas-compatible shingles on the truck, including common colorways from the Pinnacle and StormMaster lines.
  • A failed Atlas shingle is almost never a one-off on a roof older than 12 years; we inspect the surrounding field before we quote anything.
  • Every repair we do in Fort Worth carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: in writing, for one full year, and we come back free if it fails.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To

We repair Atlas shingles across the two lines most homeowners in Fort Worth have on their roofs: Atlas Pinnacle and Atlas StormMaster. Pinnacle is the architectural shingle most builders used in Tarrant County through the 2010s; StormMaster is the impact-rated line Atlas pushed hard after the big 2012 and 2016 hail years. There’s also GlassMaster, the budget three-tab that shows up on older starter homes in Wedgwood, Meadowbrook, and the Near Southside. The repair process is the same. The shingle you need is not always the same, and that’s where matching gets tricky.

Atlas changes dye lots between production runs. A Pinnacle “Weathered Wood” from 2019 won’t be a perfect match to a Pinnacle “Weathered Wood” manufactured this year. Sun exposure fades shingles fast in Texas, so a new shingle next to a field that’s been baking since 2020 will show for a season or two, then blend. We carry a broader match range on the truck than most Fort Worth roofers because we’d rather show you the closest three options in person than promise a match from a catalog photo. If you have a leftover bundle in the garage, that’s the best possible source. We’ll use it and credit you for the material.

One gotcha we run into constantly: Atlas StormMaster shingles are thicker than Pinnacle. You can’t cleanly patch a StormMaster roof with a Pinnacle shingle even if the color looks close, because the height difference telegraphs the repair from the street. If you’re unsure what you have, check the bundle wrapper for the model name, or pull up your original roofing contract. If neither exists, we identify it in five minutes on the ladder.

Brennan Roofing Co Fort Worth is an independent roofing contractor. We’re not affiliated with Atlas Roofing Corporation. We install and repair Atlas shingles because they hold up well in our climate, and because Fort Worth homeowners ask for them by name.

Signs Your Atlas Shingle Repair Is Failing

  • Granules in the gutters or at the downspout base. A new roof sheds some granules in year one. A roof past year ten should not. Heavy granule loss means the asphalt layer is oxidizing and the shingle is losing its UV armor. On Atlas shingles, this shows up first on west- and south-facing slopes around Benbrook and Aledo where afternoon sun hits hardest.
  • Curling corners or lifted tabs. Wind catches a lifted corner and folds it back like a dog-ear. Once that happens, water works under the shingle and starts degrading the sealant strip. We see this most after March wind events. A lifted Atlas tab usually means the adhesive strip has given up, not just that a nail backed out.
  • Bare spots or missing shingles after storms. Good as StormMaster is, no shingle beats a 70 mph gust and a flying hackberry limb. Missing shingles expose the underlayment and decking below. That’s when the clock really starts: exposed fasteners rust, underlayment breaks down, and the next rain follows the nail holes straight into your attic.
  • Dark streaks or stains on the ceiling. By the time water shows up inside, the shingle failure has been going on for a while. The visible stain is never the full extent; water travels sideways along rafters before it drips. We’ve cut open ceilings in Fort Worth where the actual entry point was eight feet from the stain.
  • Shingles cracking horizontally across the face. Thermal cycling does this. A shingle bakes to 150 degrees in August, then drops to 40 at night. Over years, the mat fatigues and splits. This is a material failure, not a storm failure, and it’s one of the reasons we recommend a full inspection when cracking appears on more than a handful of shingles.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we charge in Fort Worth for Atlas shingle repair, and what the number covers.

Scope Typical Installed Price What’s Included
1 – 4 Atlas shingles, single slope $350 – $500 Materials, labor, sealant, written guarantee
5 – 12 Atlas shingles, one or two areas $500 – $700 Materials, labor, fastener check on surrounding field
Repair plus ridge cap or flashing replacement $650 – $900 Shingles, lead or aluminum flashing work, sealant, full slope check
Decking repair (if water damage found) Add $150 – $400 Plywood or OSB section replacement, primed and sealed

What drives the range in Fort Worth: roof pitch. A 6/12 or 7/12 roof in Ryan Place or along the bluff west of downtown takes longer to work safely than a 4/12 ranch house slab in Saginaw. Steeper roofs mean slower, more deliberate work, and that shows up honestly in the price. Two-story homes add time for setup and material movement. If the decking underneath is soft, we find that when we lift the shingle, and we show you before we write the change. There are no surprises added at the door. The price goes on paper before any work starts, and it does not move.

Every Atlas repair we do carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: a written guarantee for one full year. If the repair fails, we return at no charge. No fine print. No prorating.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things from the ground: count the missing shingles, note which slope they came from, and look for granules at the downspout. That’ll help you describe the problem when you call. What we don’t recommend is getting on the roof with a bundle of shingles and a nail gun. Atlas architectural shingles are heavy, and after a storm the roof surface is covered in loose granules that roll underfoot like ball bearings. On a 6/12 pitch, one wrong step is a broken hip or worse. A ladder leaning wrong against a soft eave is its own accident waiting to happen.

The other problem with DIY shingle repair is what you can’t see. Lifting a shingle without tearing it means knowing how the sealant strip sits, where the fasteners are, and what’s happening underneath. If you nail through old decking that’s already starting to rot, you’ve installed a shingle on a sponge. If you don’t seat the repair course at the right reveal, water backs under the row above within a year. We fix more DIY repairs than we count, usually because the homeowner spent $80 on materials and a Saturday, and the leak moved six inches to the left.

If you want us to look at it, call (682) 900-7902. A live person answers. We’ll set an inspection and give you a written price before any work starts. If the repair is small enough, we can often do it the same visit.
